Zambia

Home of the spectacular Victoria falls, Zambia has many things to offer. With one of the lowest population densities in Africa, much of the land rests in raw wilderness waiting for discovery. From breathtaking lakes and wetlands to the abundant wildlife including the big 5 across the veldt, there is much to see and do in this beautiful, friendly, and culturally diverse country. Zambia is home to over 70 different ethnically diverse groups. Other attractions include over 17 different stunningly beautiful waterfalls, Lake Bangweulu where the grey blue waters can disappear into the horizon, where the water meets the sky.  Memorable safaris expeditions, world class river rafting on the Zambezi including multiple class 5 runs, beautiful African sunrises and deep lush gorges. Along the Zambezi, mighty beasts await you from ill tempered hippos to lurking crocodiles and the fearsome Zambezi shark, the only species that can survive in fresh and salt water as it comes up river from the open sea looking for eats. Come to see it all in this safe and scenic and inspiring country.

Don't get your laundry done in Livingstone! They say to you that it's gonna cost 10 US dollars, but ask afterwords for 50 US dollars!!

If you are traveling to Lusaka between November and April bring an umbrella (at least one) and light rain jacket. Also wear comfortable, durable shoes.
Kazungula, Southern Zambia, Zambia
As good a spot as any to cross the Zambezi, and a nice view to boot.
Ikelenge, North-Western Zambia, Zambia
A few miles north of here is Hillwood Farm founded by the Fisher family, decendants of a missionary who walked in from the Atlantic side in the 1800's. A functioning farm, orphanage, primary and secondary schools, and a game viewing ranch.. and the Fishers are still there, working side-by-side with the Lunda people.
Chipata, Eastern Zambia, Zambia
Chipata is on the way to South Luwongwo park. If you've never traveled by minibus from here to Malawi - this is a must for every traveller that is still looking for the

If you are in need of a break there is a Ster-Kinekor cinema at Arcades Mall on the Great East Road (after Manza Hill but before UNZA going east and out of town). It has releases the same time as South Africa and is reasonably priced.

Stay a night or two at Cha Cha Cha's. Don't stay longer, get a bus (Mazhandu Family bus service is excellent) to Livingstone or Chipata
Kitwe, Copperbelt Region, Zambia
Kitwe is a standard African town. For "real" Africa, go north a few miles on the road that heads towards DRC, but stop just the other side of Mindolo. There is a stall selling sofas on the right, take a right and have a walk around the Racecourse township. A fabulous place, with very poor but welcoming people. Say"How are you" to them - they will to you!
