People in Livingstone
Livingstone, Southern Zambia, Zambia
If you decide to cross the border from Zam to Zim, it usually is simple and easy, but be careful about changing money in public at the border with people on the street. They do have police watching sometimes, trying to catch you. Of course, you don't really want Zim money, except for the shock value of their inflation, as their money 'expires'!

Livingstone lives! The explorer David Livingstone is immortalised in this City at the edge of the Victoria Falls and that is where you must go. The bridge across the Zambesi Gorge is the International Border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, you will have to leave your passport at the Zambian Immigration Post and then stroll down to the Bridge, in the middle is the white line demarcating the Border, but there are no armed guards so feel free to work across and step on to Zimbabwean soil. The prime activity on the Bridge whether you are 18 or 88 is the Bungee Jump, all of 111 metres to the raging rapids of the Zambesi. Do it and get the pictures, never mind the t-shirt.

This is such a beautiful plasce to visit and there are so many things to do!!! This is where one of the best white water rafting can be done, going between the months of late September and Early december is the best time because the water level is low and the rapids are a lot funner. There are also an abundance of other adventure activities to do such as gorge swings, helicopter rides up the Zambezi River and down to the falls as well as cruises on the river where you can watch the sun set with the african wildlife surrounding you (watch out for the croc's!!). There is a range of accommodation to suit every need. Whether you want 5 star luxury, or a family fun resort (both found right on the river and you can get free access to the Victoria Falls because you have to pay to see it now!!). Or if you want something more native there are great lodge style accommodation where you sleep in a hut style room, but dont worry they come with bathrooms and beds!! Well most of them. When visiting Africa it is always important to be wary of the crime and possible dangers, but i havn't experienced any problems in Livingston. If you just ask hotel staff and stick with tour guides, everything should be A OK :-)

Victoria Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the word. You can see the rainbow across the falls from any point.

If you're in Zimbabwe and you want to go to Zambia, you can save money on your visa by getting in touch with Jollyboys Backpacker's. For US$25, they'll organise a visa waiver for you, pick you up from the Zambian side of the border, and give you two nights of accommodation. It seems like a good deal, considering the visa alone costs US$25 for Australians normally. The catch is they need 48 hours to organise everything.
