Well, it has been about 5 years since I was in Africa,  but one of the many highlights of the trip was a place called Antelope Park  near Gweru, Zimbabwe.  There are a lot of things to do here including elephant treks,  canoeing down a river with crocodiles,  playing with baby lions and walking with young lions ( up to about 18months old).  A really  unique experience  and one that I can absolutely recommend ( if it still exists).

Stay at Antelope Park...a haven in the unstable mess of Zimbabwe, fantastic activities and conservation volunteer opportunities.

Roads are very bumpy! Try going on a safari by horseback-I loved it! The Longdrops(bathrooms) were pretty nasty
