Description:
SaBalai Bistro

Right near the centre of the bustling city of Koronadal on the Philippine island of Mindanao one can find an extraordinary restaurant. SaBalai Bistro, a hidden jewel in Koronadal’s dining scene. This restaurant is definitely a place with a well-thought-out menu of original creations. The quality of the food and presentation are very good and quite imaginative. SaBalai is in fact a steak and pasta house, but they also serve spicy East Asian delicacies such as Tandoori, Kabob and exquisite dishes from the Mediterranean cuisine. Also a number of traditional Filipino favourites, such as Bulalo, Pancit Canton and Lomi are served.

With an emphasis on fresh seafood, exquisite pastas, and grilled-to-perfection meats, SaBalai will couple fine food and the highest service standards to ever have been incorporated in a Koronadal restaurant. The various and tempting pasta choices, with extensive fresh ingredients are a treat for the fans of the Italian cuisine, the menu is filled up with traditional Italian temptations that deliver inspiring choices. The Tandoori cooking techniques are replicated from the Indian style tradition, yet suited for the Filipino palate.

The suite of SaBalai Espesyal offers an alternative choice for seafood and vegetable menu patterned from neighbouring countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia . SaBalai is not a Halal restaurant, but no pork meat is served in all of their recipes. As a steak house they serve the best home grown choice cut beef cooked in the western tradition of pan grilling.
One of the main specialities and most rewarding dish is a prime bone in cut of beef, pan grilled and dredged in compounded butter and soy sauce. Glazed with mushroom gravy and served with rice, vegetables or fries on the side with a bowl of soup. This delicious steak dinner can either be ordered as T-Bone, Porterhouse, Rib Eye or Tenderloin. The Spanish rustic wine with a good depth of colour is a logical choice with this meal.

This inner-city restaurant is decorated in an attractive bistro style.   The atmosphere is informal, lively and relaxed. Dining in the Gamaba hall is a feast for the eyes, at the far edge is an open air Lanai which also serves as a smoking area. On the front left of the hall are arrays of for sale items such as bottled goods made in the Bistro, Buddha heads from Thailand and various ornaments and household items.   The Commissioners Lounge can accommodate 4 to 7 persons. Leather cushions and rattan chairs are positioned on the right side. An oversized Tagbanua basket stands erect with two harvest gods guarding the entrance. This is a non-smoking area, a Maranao wooden bowl with a glass top is the centre piece of this space. Inside the bowl-table clam shells from Maasim are hidden as treasure finds.

SaBalai is a great new addition to the town of Koronadal City. A bistro where a warm welcome awaits you, with an excellent ambiance, a place where you can dine out in style, enjoying excellent food at great value.
SaBalai is open from 10am to 10pm daily from Tuesday to Saturday and on Sunday and Monday from 3pm to 10pm . The address: 476 Jose Abad Santos St. , Koronadal City . For reservations, please call at (00-63) 228-2384.
