Summary: Hostel is terrible. Who did they pay-off to be a 2008 Golden Backpack Award Finalist?
My full review is based on 1-night March '09 stay in a 4-share dorm room. ( Note: This hostel currently goes by the name of "Westend Backpackers." )
PROS:
412 Pitt Street is a central Sydney location Easy access to everything you need in Sydney: food/drink/entertainment/transportation Only a few blocks away from Central Station Friendly staff at check-in desk Fast Internet is provided 24-hours from Global Gossip Activities are always available from bus tours to surfing packages. CONS:
Hard used, run-down, and filthy rooms
Basics like bedding were not sorted, i.e. damp sheets from reception as there was nothing on the bed In a city the size of Sydney you have many hostel options at this same price-point and within a few blocks even. So why put up with these conditions?
