Did we mention we're in an awesome location? There's a huge variety of pubs/bars, cafes and restaurants right at our doorstep. We're only a five minute walk to the beach, a ten minute tram ride from the city and a stones throw away from the Melbourne Formula One GP track. You wont find a better place to call home!
The Coffee Palace, with it's relaxed environment is famous for providing a great time. The atmosphere is addictive - whether you're chilling out in the lounge, watching Fox Sports on the TV, playing a game of pool, chatting to our friendly staff or joining in with our daily activities. We'll guarantee you a funky good time!
We have a WORKPLACE CENTRE that has JOBS AVAILABLE on a daily basis, (we have too much work at the moment!!) as well as a Travel Consultant on deck 7 days a week.
The Coffee Palace is set in one of St Kilda's oldest and most historic buildings. It has all the character and charm of an old-school hostel, but with all the facilities you need. (Brand new renovated kitchen is awesome.) As it is an old building we ensure that our full time cleaners are on the go every day. (Rooms are cleaned every day, communal areas, bathrooms and kitchen area three times a day.)
We'll guarantee that you have an unbelievable experience whilst staying with us. AND..... you get FREE PANCAKES every day!!

Monday Nights - Neighbours Nite or cheap jugs at the Prince. Strike Bowling and Cheap Eats night
Tuesday - Pool Comp. Followed by Cushion and Traffik. St Kildas best backpacker nights
Wednesday Night - Pizza Night
Thursday Nights - Hot Dog night
Friday Night - Coffee Palace BBQ on roof top. (Depending on weather!!)
Saturday and Sundays - Plenty to choose from! Ask at reception or look out for our activities coordinator. Aussie Rules during the winter (Go Saints!!) and BBQ's at the beach in the summer.

Getting there:
From Tullamarine Airport the Coffee Palace is so easy to get to. There are a couple of ways you can choose. At the airport there is a bus service called the Skybus. (operates 24/7) It brings you into the major Bus and Train terminal in the city, Southern Cross Station. Once you have arrived at Southern Cross Station, catch the No. 96 Tram from the corner of Spencer Street and Bourke St. Once you're on the tram, just head for Fitzroy St, St Kilda. Get off at Grey St and walk up the road. We're just on the left. Look for the orange Coffee Palace signs. We are the first hostel you will pass.
If you are after a faster and more efficient way of getting to us from the airport then you can jump on the Frankston and Peninsula Bus. (little green and white bus) It operates between 7am and 7pm. This service brings you right to our door. If you are staying a week with us then we can arrange a free ride if you call in advance. You obviously have to be arriving within the operating times though.
From Avalon you hop on the Sunbus Shuttle to Southern Cross Station then the tram to St Kilda.
