Jul 12, 2009 Hostel Majdas, formerly known as Majdas Rooms, was possibly the most comfortable and educational hostel I stayed at while traveling in Eastern Europe. Bata, the man who for the most part runs it, gives tours for three or more people- TAKE THE TOUR. Not only is it amazingly beautiful, Bata is a phenomenal guide and open book of knowledge. He explains BH's history and current affairs, from the raw and gut wrenching perspective of a man who lived through the war that tore his country apart. P.S. Bring a swim suit. Bata's grandmother makes the BEST coffee in the morning. Definitely try it, and if you don't drink coffee, their tea is lovely as well. Some tips to stay on their good side: 1. Do Not sleep on the balcony. 2. Abide by the posted quiet hours. 3. Listen when any local talks about the war- set your own political/religious/etc views aside. Do not cut in or express possibly hurtful opinions unless you know the person well. Definitely ask questions. 4. Take off your shoes at the door! Mostar is an incredible city. Enjoy! Sep 22, 2011 This is hands down my favorite hostel in the world. Staying here makes the visit to Mostar worthwhile, even if you should happen not to like the city, which is close to impossible. The staff make you feel welcomed in their family, and the beauty of Mostar downtown with the old bridge is just minutes away. Apr 11, 2010 Lovely place. More homestay or hostel than hotel. Majda and her brother are very helpful and nice. Related Links
