Mar 26, 2009 My husband and I stayed for four nights at Absolument Montreal in late June of 2008. It is located in a quiet area of Montreal, within walking distance of several Metro stations and restaurants. We roomed in the Bollywood Suite, which is located at the front of the BB. It was very clean and comfortable and extremely quiet considering its location on a main street. Despite consisting of two rooms, it’s a bit on the small side and we found it difficult to store our luggage and shopping. This wasn’t too much of a problem, though, considering we spent the majority of our day exploring Montreal, only returning for a quick siesta or to freshen-up. The four-course, gourmet breakfasts were, hands down, the best we’ve ever had in our travels (so far)! Former reviewers are right when they comment that you’ll not need to eat until dinner. Stephane is a fabulous chef. Bravo! Although we did not have a courtyard entrance room, Kent was kind enough to serve us breakfast outside when previous guests vacated their courtyard rooms. He was also a fountain of knowledge during this time, providing invaluable advice on restaurants, tourist areas, and directions. It was nice to relax in the jacuzzi in the evening and settle down to one of the many DVD’s available for viewing. Amenities for our room consisted of an always stocked fridge (with soda and water), microwave, hot water kettle and cups (with assorted teas and cocoa), an always filled fruit bowl, and comfy bathrobes and slippers. My husband was able to use the complementary Wi-Fi with his laptop with no problems. We made use of the available parking spot, although it was a very tight fit for our car (a Chrysler 300). Also note that the hosts take the cleanliness of the BB very seriously, so we were required to remove our shoes upon entrance and wear slippers (provided) inside. This was not a hassle at all, because who doesn’t want to shed the shoes after a long day of sightseeing? What a wonderful stay we had in Montreal and at Absolument. We’d love to return to both, although we’d probably stay in one of the larger rooms at the back of the property. Grab a room before they’re booked up! Related Links
