Hey Travelers! I just wanted to take a moment to rave about some awsome places in Hong Kong. I have been to the city three times and try something new each time. Two must do things for me... 1) Find an amazing hotel 2) Find the best spa in town You will read many reviews about these things but having been there let me tell you the answers are... 1) The Penninsula 2) The spa at the Mandarin Oriental When you book a reservation at the Penninsula you can expect five star all the way. No matter what restaurant you pick on site, it will be amazing. However, the flag ship restaurant is Felix, designed by Phillipe Starck. It has its own elevator that changes color as it ascends to the top floor. There is a circular wine "cabana" if you will in the middle of the place so you can choose a special bottle. Felix has almost a 360 degree view of the city. And if you have never heard about Hong Kong's light show at night, it is a sight to see. The food is asian-fusion and well worth the price. The ambiance is next to none. And please check out the bathrooms which don't skimp on the view either. I have been to the spa at the Penninsula and The Intercontinental and they don't hold a candle to the Mandarin Oriental spa. What makes this my favorite spa anywhere in the world is of course the entire facilty is beautiful, but they have a mud treatment that allows you to sit nude in their private turkish bath. The entire room is laid in sparkling mosaic tile, including the rotunda. There is a purple crytal in the middle which is suppose to emit positive energy. The room fills with an eerie mist as you sit an relax with your fruit smoothie.
