Situated in the heart of Christchurch City, this fabulous historic building is the home of Charlie B's Backpackers. The central location provides easy access to cafes, restaurants, local attractions, bus and train connections - making it the ideal base for your Christchurch backpacking experience.
We cater for everyone with our private singles, double and twin rooms though to our small and larger dorms. All the rooms offer comfortable (inner sprung) beds, fresh clean hotel grade linen, heating and plenty of room to spread out. Ideal for sports teams, schools and other groups looking for affordable accommodation in Christchurch.

Reception is open 24 hours and our friendly team of local staff are fully trained and can offer you up to date information and the best deals available. Here to advise and assist with all your travel needs including local attractions, transportation, next destination bookings and activities anywhere in New Zealand.
Our facilities include free off street car parking, 2 comfortable lounges, a brand new spacious kitchen with french doors leading out to a secluded garden, full laundry, Sky TV, free DVDs, pool table, 8 Internet terminals, plus wireless internet.

Room types:
• Double and Twin Accommodation
Private rooms with freshly cleaned comfortable beds (all our doubles have queen-size beds), heating and share facilities.
• Single Accommodation
Private with comfortable single beds, these rooms come with fully made beds, heating and shared facilities.
• Dormitory Accommodation:
our dorm rooms provide freshly cleaned comfortable beds, plenty of space and heating. They sleep from 6 to 12 people and require sleeping bags although linen is available for hire.
• Quad Room Accommodation
As they describe no more than 4 to a room, they provide freshly cleaned comfortable beds, space, heating and linen supplied.


Note: Due to the high demand for backpacker's accommodation in Christchurch during the summer months (October to March) we recommend that you book at least 2 days in advance during this period.

Getting there:
If you are arriving at Christchurch Airport the best way from there is with a shuttle bus which will cost approx. $17 for one $21 for two etc and they will drop you off at our door. There is also a public bus which will cost $7 per person, this will drop you off at Cathedral Square and we are a 10 min walk from there. If you are driving here we are on the corner of Madras and Gloucester St (the north side of Latimer Square). We are on a one way system and our car park is accessible by driving past the hostel and taking an immediate right after the building.
