A really great hostel. Nice, clean, spacious rooms, a huge roof terrace, very central to the main city square, and on the street where you can book tours to the nearby Colca Canyon. We had a room right on the roof and it was really good, even had cable. The street outside gets really noisy because of all the cabs and traffic, but I think that´s really the same anywhere in the city! The rates don´t include breakfast, but there is a kitch you can use and a communcal fridge. Anyway, for what they´re charging in the middle of the city, you can´t really expect breakfast. At least there´s loads of places to eat nearby (although eating out in Arequipa is a bit pricey). They also have secure baggage lockers for while you´re away on trips, and they can recommend good hostels in your next destination for you. Don´t book your trip to the canyon there straight away, there´s a whole load of places and prices, and the only real difference in the trips is the hostel you stay in in Chivay.
