If you're just there to get a feel for Vegas, this is surely one of the cheapest places on the Strip to spend the night. In proximity to everything, though rooms for under a 100 dollars a night. They do gambling classes in the morning (Black Jack, Poker, Roulette, etc).

This is a clean nice hotel/casino. It it relatively in the middle of the strip for easy walking. If you are looking for a good price on a hotel, Imperial Palace is your choice.

cheap place to stay, in the middle of the las vegas strip. It is not a luxury hotel but fine... And the rockhouse nightclub in front of the hotel is great!
