Whitehorse is so much more than people think. This is big little town and the people are incredible. I have only been in the winter but there are amazing this to do in the summer. In winter there is a ski hill outside the town, numerous kennels to go dog-sledding – I HIGHLY recommend it, and there are natural hotsprings outside of the city about 30 minutes away.
I always stay at the High Country Inn as it has the best newer rooms and buffet. It is a little out of the way but nothing is too far in Whitehorse.
Good restaurants are G&P, The Cave, but stay away from Giorgio’s and the creperie I think both are vastly overpriced and the food inferior. Sam N Andys is OK for a fun night out, The best Mexican is at Sanchez Cantina. The owner goes home to Mexico for January though. Lunch is at the Talisman. They also have a Boston Pizza – go Tuesday for cheap pasta night.
