your passport needs to have more than 6 months left until the expiary date otherwise they wont let you into the country.
however all personell do take bribes.

Hi, This is a totally incorrect tip. All the major airlines will not allow anyone on flights to Indonesia without more than 6 months on your passport because Indonesian immigration forces the airline to take you back on the next available flight.
