If you are visiting Almaty don't miss an opportunity to see a beautiful scenery from Koktobe which is the closest mount to the city. If you have some 3-4 hours it is advisable to go there in early evening and have a dinner there, in this case you will have a chance to see the city both in daylight and in night.
