don't take the local bus between Bagan and Inle Lake - if you can't afford the $80 flight, then work your travel around it, go Yangon to Inle by Bus, then Inle to Manadalay by bus ...if you want to go further north from here u can, then bus to Bagan and then overnight bus to Yangon. Visit Mruak U - its worth the money to fly in and out to Sittwe to visit - total highlight.
