make sure to get out of the resort and do one of the island trips.its amazing to see that parts of it are jungle like,even seeing how the thai people live.I would recommend the safari tour it takes everything in and brings you to the most fabulous beach in lamai.for travel the songathews are great and much cheaper than getting into a taxi.you know them becuase they are brightly colouerd  and usually blown the horn when they are passing tourists.
