Ephesus is an amazing place full of culture and history. What really surprised me was all the Biblical history.  More than you would imagine. Seeing the places where the apostles and disciples walked and preached is an incredible experience.
Ephesus is also a place to go if you like to shop. Turkish rugs, Turkish teas, Turkish leather which feels like butter!!! But beware the vendors!! They will hassle you to no end!! The worst hassling experience that I had in Europe. So if you don't plan on buying anything, don't go in the store! Don't even talk to the vendor! But if you like to negotiate and barter, this is the place to be. Also know that they pretty much accept any currency there- U.S. dollars, Euros, Turkish Liras, Yen, it doesn't even matter. They just want your money!! Enjoy!
