Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany Region, Italy I had the best Italian food ever in Forte dei Marmi. Don't go to the tourist traps though. If you go down some of the sidestreets in town and try out a local restaurant that even looks a bit shabby, you will get the best food ever; and the prices are much more reasonable too. Good tip? (+2) Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Hmmm where to begin? Sydney is a fabulous city, not only because it's on the coast and has the Opera House as a trademark but simply because it is still at a stage where we can call it a metropolitan city but isn't yet so terribly congested. And that is truly the beauty of the city, with lots of green and recreational areas. But now to some insider tips: - Do the Harbour Bridge Climb (it's breathtaking) -Visit the Rocks and eat out in Darling Harbour (the atmosphere is great and relaxed): Restaurant recommendations: Angus Steak House, Jordan's seafood restaurant - Take the monorail to get around town: Oh at the QVB exit there's an enormous bookshop (if you're looking for a book, they most probably will have it): Kinokunya Bookshop - Stop at Star City, the QVB (old shopping arcade) - Visit Tarronga Zoo - Head to Bondi Beach for a weekend on the beach! Good tip? (+2) Reykjavik, Iceland dont use the public toilet on the main street... Good tip? (+2) Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Must see the M.C.G, ride on a tram, eat at Lygon St Carlton. Brussels is the best. Good tip? (+2) Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa I've been around but this is the most beautiful place on the planet. I know, it will be hard to find a similar spot. Lovely nature reserves where you can do a safari. You should go for a horse riding safari as you get closer to the animals, nice! Many high quality restaurants with decent prices. Not to forget a fantastic choice of wine all local! And you can go out for days and meet the nice and friendly South Africans! ***** Good tip? (+2) Washington, District of Columbia, United States When using Metro escalators, please stand on the right side and walk on the left side . Good tip? (+2) Amsterdam, Amsterdam & Noord Holland, Netherlands By all means visit the markets, but watch out for pick pockets, they are very organised and experienced. Special places to visit include the Royal Palace, Madame Tousaude's for some local wax and if you must, a local coffee shop, but then remember the first item. Amsterdam isn't that representative of Holland any more, if you really want to experience it, head to one of the smaller towns. Centraal Station will take you pretty much anywear quickly and easily. If you are there and they do a public address warning about the pick pockets, don't do what everyone else automatically does, which is clap their hands to where they keep their wallets. Anyone would think the crims were paying the people to do the PA's lol. Good tip? (+2) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Go to GORNJI GRAD, or on the main square Trg Bana Josipa Jelačića, you'll have plenty things to see.... Good tip? (+2) Harare, Northern Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Visit the Mukuvusi Woodlands - a beautiful game reserve right near the heart of the city. Wander through the African savannah among fantastic animals - impala, kudu, eland, zebra giraffe to name but a few. Where else in the world can you enjoy such wilderness in a city? Good tip? (+2) |
