a good place to stear clear of - tho you do need to access Magnetic Island from here.
The cops are real pigs, nasty and controlling the court system. In this town the cops and magistrates all sleep with each other.
you CAN NOT eat and smoke in the same place, even if you go outside and off the premises, still no smoking while eating; you can't take your drink with you if you leave the premises to have a smoke. This place is totally fucked. tho the sunshine is nice

Beautiful city! Go to Magnetic Island! It's so nice; very few people great hiking areas. I loved it. The hostel we stayed in was very cute.
