Adorable Perth suburb! Be sure to do the prison tour. It's a tad strenuous with a big and complex ladder system you have to climb up and down, and in the tunnels you can't stand up most places, but it's *definitely* worth it!

City Center Mustang Bar Freementle Kings Park

Get down to the Cott Hotel in Cottasloe Beach for the best Sunday session in Australia....bare feet, boardies, tops off, sun, jugs of ice cold beer, cool tunes and some very sexy people!

Make sure you go to Kings park and watch the sunset over the city and Rottnest island is a must,absolutly gorgeous! Its $69 for a return ferry ticket.
A good cheap hostel is Beatty lodge in Vincent street. Its $50 a night for a double or $33 a night for a single, dorms are also available.
Lots of restaurants in the city centre or in an area called Northbridge nearby, everything ranging from Maccy D's to italian, Korean, Japanese Greek

most charming place to visit fremantle. Its a port city and it contains well preserved buildings.

If you're looking for a party atmosphere i'd recommend Bambu backpackers. It's right in the centre of Northbridge where all the good nightlife is, and if you quote the hostel name at many of the surrounding bars you will receive a large bar tab on certain nights of the week. It's also BYO at the hostel itself and there's a good mixture of long and short term residents.

If you want a whole string of coffee shops and art galleries, get on the train and head to Fremantle. Its a hip place to eat and spend an evening.

Get yourself prepared to face literally hundreds of flies flying around you! I don't really know why but this city seems to be the place where flies from all four corners of the world congregate. Haha. Anyway, don't expect much from this western part of Australia as the city basically sleeps come night. Almost all shops close at around 6-7 p.m. There's barely any night life. By the way, I don't think Pinnacle Rocks is worth going because all you do is travel for a few hours in a crammed vehicle only to be disappointed at the sight of gigantic rocks that are not any different from the average rock in the city.
