Linz is situated in the north of Austria approximately 4 hours from Wien by train. It is an industrial city and this is reflected throughout however it is aesthetically pleasing with lovely people and brilliant hostels. However there is not much to do except for their excellent technology museum. The still intact concentration camp a short bus ride away (can no longer remember the name) is a must see! Perched on a hill side it has brilliant views and a chilling atmosphere. Although most of the written information is in German an audio guide is provided free of charge however be warned that they will ask for your passport as security!!

I was there to go out to a club called Der Tunnel. It excists of 3 tunnels running through a mountain. Never seen this before, one of a kind location !!

If you want to have a nice and cheap austrian food go to Josef, Landstrasse, between 14:00 and 14:00. It costs 3.90 € for a "eat as much as you want".

I just love Linz Cathedral - I went there around sunset and it was ever sooo beautiful.

They are very proud of their soccer team - go to the wald Stadium Plus City is the biggest and nicest shopping mall in the whole Linz City area

If you're going to Linz, you should really go to the Hauptplatz and see the 'Pestsäule' and all the old buildings, which are at the Hauptplatz.

When you're there, you could go to the Donau -that's a stream- or to the 'Urfahraner Markt' -that's kind of a amusement park-.

linz , stunned me , u can go to travel help for free and they book u a hotel , room or pension . the higher u get , the cheaper . last time i payed 20 euroos for a room !!!

Don't take toddlers out too late at night especially during summer time. You might be questioned by police.
Women travellers with children need not worry about taking the train. Fellow travellers help carry bags.
