Good tip? (0) Manaus, Amazon Region, Brazil Did not see much in that town, Just stayed a few hours with our Cruise ship and part of it if worked and in addition we had a party on one of the ships in the harbor. Good tip? (0) Manaus, Amazon Region, Brazil Manaus is located on the Amazaon River. Take the time to check out the Meeting of the Waters. Plus, if you are feeling more adventurous, head out and spend a couple of days at a jungle lodge. I recommend Juma Lodge. You time can be spent watching pink dolphins, fishing for piranha, trekking through the jungle, or playing with the resident monkeys and parrots. Good tip? (0) Manaus, Amazon Region, Brazil Manaus is the gateway to the real Amazones. From there you can be picked up in a tiny boat to be taken to a resort that's nested in the wilderness. Having said that, most of them are quite luxurious and very comfortable. Trust me, you still feel you are in the middle of the wilderness (duh, you really are!). I had an amazing guide, who actually caught a live, extremely venomous snake for us so we could take a picture of it! He let it go back to its home after we had our Kodak Moments. I would highly recommended anyone in the area to stay at any of the resorts there, all are well looked after. And definately visit the Monkey Rescue! Some of the monkeys have decided to stay after they were nursed back to health (they are not caged) and are very eager to play and check you hair for fleas. Heaps of fun! Good tip? (0) Manaus, Amazon Region, Brazil If you were coming from Peru or Columbia, a fun way to approach Manaus is by a 4-day boat ride along Amazon river from Tabatinga which is a small town bordering Santa Rosa in Peru and Leticia in Columbia. Great experience guaranteed!!! Good tip? (0) Manaus, Amazon Region, Brazil Hotel Tropical is the best just at the Rio Negro Good tip? (0) |
