Ekundukundu I, Cameroon
Really out there in the bush. If you are into the real TseTse fly experience, this is the place. Off the beaten track, in fact so off, it is practially impossible to go during the rainy season, which is pratically all year. Once there, no one speaks a language you know, unless you studied Korup, or there is a random Nigerian Fula you can ask for help from. But then look what happened to Mungo Park. Beautiful water falls near by. All sorts of facinating birds, Mandrills, Drills, bush elephants, and then there is Unilever palm plantation. They liked it so much they cut down a large part of the forest to plant rubber trees. They eat fofo all the time. And take malaria meds, really!

Kribi, South Region, Cameroon
Kribi is Cameroon's most popular beach resort for local people from Douala. During the week the beaches are empty. South of town you can find more quiet places. I never forget my walk along the beach during a heavy tropical rainfall. There was just me, a dog, sea, beach, rainforest and a warm shower from the sky. About 8 km from town you can find the impressive waterfalls Chutes de la Lobé.

Maroua, Far North Region, Cameroon
The hotel "Porte de Mayo" is a lovely place with bungalow style rooms in Maroua, located in the northern part of Cameroon. I have spent many days there, enjoying good food and relaxing from the events in Chad.

Douala, Littoral Region, Cameroon
A travelling tip when in douala, don't keep all your money in one pocket... hide some in your shoes... put always have some money on you. Another tip if your staying in a hotel or appartment, always leave some lights and the television on if u leave your room during the evening. Be carefull if you need to change money... always calculate how much they should give you before changing, and count carfully to be shure they gave you the right amount. If it's not the case they will surely give excuses as... there is a tax... or the rate exchange is not the same here... d'ont swallow... and don't hesitate to ask your money back. Never change your money in the streets, even though you might get a better exchange... most are fake money.

Yaounde, Centre Region, Cameroon
best dangerous place is a abandoned skyscraper in the middle of Yaoundé On the brink of collapse, with a such a history of violence, devil-worshipping activities and a hidout for mobsters, even the Yaoundeze were really afraid of going in there. (had to bribe the guard). It history betrays it must have been once a regular killzone and even nowadays it has a rather bad reputation and a lot of bats.
