    Quathiaski Cove, British Columbia, Canada
We spent a week on Quadra Island in 2006. Rented a small waterfront BB "On the Beach BB" on the east side of the island. The owners were delightful and non-intrusive. This was a great location to explore the rest of the island, and relax with views of the Coastal Mountains and gorgeous evening sunsets. Quathiaski Cove is a quaint area with beautiful waters, a few local artisans, and marina. We also enjoyed Herriot Bay and Rebecca Spit. We are rockhounds, and enjoyed beachcombing for interesting stones and shells. Quadra is less touristy than many of the other islands. There are one or two resorts but much of the island is smaller rental properties. If you really want to relax, there's lots of natural beauty to explore. One of our favorite places!

    Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada
This is the most amazing scenery you can find anywhere I've ever been. It is a stunningly beautiful valley on the central coast of BC. The climate is mild but can be gorgeous in the summer. The people here are amazingly kind. If you're interested in rivers, mountains, hiking, fishing, Native art or culture, bears, eagles, rainforests, horseback riding or anything outdoors then consider this GORGEOUS location. You can ferry in from Port Hardy, fly from Vancouver or drive if you dare! Anyway you go, you will not regret it. Consider staying at the Coast Mountain Guest House. It is a beautiful well-priced cabin with a fantastic view and amazing hosts near by.
