Travel Tips - AllWinnipeg, Manitoba, Canada If this isn't the coldest place on earth in wintertime then I don't want to go anywhere colder! Minus 27 degrees Celsius with windchill! But I had a good time.
Can't tell you about accommodation as I stayed with friends of friends. But public transport is good.
The centre for the local first nations tribes was a great place to visit. I had a meeting with a representative and swapped some similarities and differences between the native people and Maori.
I went to a high school ice hockey game with the family I stayed with. Wicked!!! Smashing into the perspex and so fast. If I couldn't watch rugby or league, this would be the game to watch!
Good shopping and lots of history. Very good museum to visit. I would like to go back in the summer to compare. Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada It's an extremely cold windy city so wear down clothing in the winter. And very mosquito filled in the spring. However it is just beautiful in the summer. There are lots of music festivals and a fabulous choice of theatre and dance performances to choose from. Good tip? (0) Saint Vital, Manitoba, Canada Saint Vital is really part of Winnipeg, now. It holds the city's biggest mall, and there is many strip malls. Most of the area is residential. The Royal Canadian Mint is in this area too. Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada A typical mid sized city...very windy, lol Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada I visited in the summer, so I wouldn't know about the cold. The temperatures weren't outrageously high. Also, I can't comment on accomodations, as I stayed with a friend. My overall impression is that the city is hardly any different from most cities that size in North America. The roads are usually poor. The city does have some great places to go to, however. One of them is the Manitoba Museum, another one is the Royal Canadian Mint. As far as food goes, nothing special, but the food court at the Forks is as good a place to start as any. Winnipeg does offer good spectator sports, such as CFL football and baseball. Public transportation is pretty good, and the people are friendly. Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada can get down to -40 with wind chill in the winter (not fun) and the summer is muggy and mosquito filled.
Check out BLUSH nightclub and The Forks Marketplace Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Winnipeg is the capital city of Manitoba, lost in the middle of the Great Plains. It has a small French-speaking community in the neighborhood of Saint Boniface and a few miles South-West lies Bruxelles, Manitoba!! Good tip? :D Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada cold in winter. Go in the summer. Go to Kelekis Restaurant for a burger. Good tip? (0) Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada very busy city by day due to corn business and boring by night, everything close early Good tip? (0) |
