    Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Do not take a taxi in Grand Caymen. The local buses, which are actually medium sized vans, cost only $2.50 to ride as long as you want. The taxis will cost you up to $50! You will be on the bus with the locals, but we found many friendly people by riding the bus. The bus depot is to the right of the main library in the square one block north of the dock. You will see a sign proclaiming the $2.50 price.

Definitely a beautiful location in the Caribbean! Georgetown is full of shops and restaurants, you can snorkel or swim with stingrays, and even visit a turtle farm. The best place to go is Hell. Although it's very small and very busy, you can stop by the Post Office and send everyone something from Hell.

Hiring a Cab/Shuttle in Grand Cayman.

Drivers will negotiate the fair, if you have a large group then negotiate. We got fare from $4/person to $3/person for party of 8 both ways - saved $16 US.

If they offer to give you lower fare on the way back, don't take it unless you are certain to get that same driver again. Typically cruise ship passengers go to the same locations and when its time to head back to ship, there will be an over abundance of cabs/shuttles and they take the first people they get. They won't wait around for you.

We did hook up with our same shuttle driver and she tried to renig on the deal we made. We told her to pound sand we'd take another cab just on principle, she then honored our original deal.
