If you are staying at the Chengdu Mix Hostel on XingHuiXi Lu make sure you try the delicious and really cheap "stick food" on the street outside. Not only is it delicious and healthy but really cheap too. Great with friends and beer.

There is a new Italian Restaurant in town, called Peter Pan. It really sets a new standard to Italian food in Chengdu. Definately try, if you really want to taste a bit of Europe!

In march 2007, I was in The Loft in Chengdu. I was on my way to the south but ended up staying here for 2,5 weeks. Nice hostel, very friendly and helpfull staff, good restaurant, excellent services. On the topfloor there was a good pooltable, free internet, tv/dvd/ps2.
