people tend to send you in the wrong direction. not on purpose, but they do. so aks 2 times just in case.

don't exchange money in banks or post offices. there are small shops that do only that - exchange money, they have the best rates.

You are in the capital city of Croatia and it is centered in the middle of nature. You are very close to a beautiful lake.

The Croatian capital has lots to see by way of museums, parks and the like... but would rather suggest spending your time on the coast, Dubrovnik upwards, hopping off at as many cities there as you can... but perhaps a couple of days at Zagreb is still worth it ... for a more East European or Balkan feel to Croatia, as against the Mediterranean feel its coast offers...
