The really good restaurants are usually well hidden from tourists :) So the best is to ask a Local where to eat.
But "Bacvice" is a nice place with lots of bars and 2 restaurants which are nice and with a great view if it's by day.

Kaštel Kambelovac i one of the seven Kaštela in Dalmacija, north of Split. It's situated along the adriatic cost and has wonderful beaches. Great accomodation and the restaurants offer local specialties that are amazing!

Small and nice. The Diocletian castle and the Riva are the only 2 things to see Try the octopus salad !!!

If you're planning to eat authentic dalmatian food, don't miss Konoba "Fife" on riva, the city's old centre. Food is fresh and delicious, and prices are more than fair.

split is a nice nightlife-city at the croatian coast...but still dubrovnik is my favourit!

Buffet Fife is a restuarant where the locals go not far from the old Palace, its cheap and the food is amazing. I recommend going there at least once during your visit to Split.
