(+1) Pula, Istria Region, Croatia Interesting small place on the seacost... Good tip? (+1) Pula, Istria Region, Croatia Beautiful town on the sea that has changed hands with every empire in the Adriatic; from a neolithic settlement to being ruled by Greece, Rome, Byzantine, Slavs, Franks, Veniatians, Pisans, Genoese, Hapsburgs, French, Austrians, Italians (pre-WWI), and was administered by the UN until being united with communist Yugoslavia. You can find every imaginable type of architecture from a well preserved Roman arena to an unbelievable futurist post-office that is made from hundreds of thousands of mini red tiles. Pula is well worth a few days visit. Good tip? (+1) Otocac, Istria Region, Croatia veeery small, bad roads, but cute... nice to see that people have that kind of strenght to move on after the war.
