Top tip - pop into the tourist office and pick up a 'walking map' of Copenhagen. Gives you a wonderful walking tour of Copenhagen and you can choose how long a route to take which brings you past all the important landmarks and out of the main high streets. Otherwise spend the day in Tivoli, one of the best theme parks in the world!

You really have to go to Nyhavn, lovely atmosphere!

Bring lots of money its very expensive

if you go in autumn visit Dyrhave in the north of the city, very nice forest with the oldest amusement park in Europe

Tivoli gardens for a laugh, Nyhavn for bars

Make sure you take the boat trip, its wonderful. The city has a lot to offer and great things to see. Interesting architecture.

Get yourself down to the docks. Surrounding the boats are thousands and thousands of jellyfish that form a squishy blanket on the water.

The main city shopping drag is great, take comfortable shoes and wander around! I am tall and found that for once in my life the clothes fit without problems. Saw the Little Mermaid, had been told it was disappointing but I still thought it worth the effort.

Copenhagen is beautiful in Winter, though bloody cold. Make sure you rug up!

The harbour boat cruise is cheap and worth it, you pass Hans Christian Anderson's House and the Little Mermaid. It is worth walking to the little mermaid after to see her up close.
