Avoid taxicabs unless you know how much a fare should be from one place to another. Negotiate this price in advance.

    Barcelona, Catalonia Region, Spain
Having lived in BCN for seven good years, i will need to focus on a few insider tips: 1. Go to Sarria: a former village now enclosed in upper Barcelona. Beautiful, relaxed, few tourists and great bars/restaurants including Bar Tomas, famed for its Patatas Bravas (and little else) 2. For nightlife amongst the locals (and not just the tourists and expats hanging around the old town) go to the area around Maria Cubi and Santalo 3. For a lovely walk overlooking my favourite town take a hike op the hills and walk on the Carretera de les Aigues (busy with locals on Sundays, but always bring your own water) or go for a longer walk in the Parc de Colserola straddling the hills 4. My favourite restaurants: Agua, Barceloneta, Ciudad Condal, La Polpa ... and sooooo many more 5. Summer festival: Grec

Basel, Basel & Aargau Region, Switzerland
When you go up to the Messeturm there is a lovely bar -the "Bar Rouge". You have a wonderful view over the whole city. Especieally in the night it is very pretty The Zolli: in this zoo you can see a lot of different animals and all of them are living in a very trimly and broad enclosure.

    Inis, County Clare, Ireland
Take your time to explore Country Clare.
The Cliffs of Moher are very touristic with lots of people, the not so famous cliffs (south) of Killrush are also nice to visit on a rainy or stormy day!
Try visiting the Aran Island (in particular Inishmore). Go by boat (from Doolin) and rent a bike to explore the islands.
Go walking in the Burren or drive through with your car. Take a few moments to enjoy the mistic Poulnabrone Dolmen.

    Venice, Veneto Region, Italy
Dont travel with a group in venice!!! - after you diembarked from your opereta boat, go alone and dont stick with the group. the group tours show san marco and realto- and stick 3 hours to unesseary explanations. venice is small and easy to get around- go always by foot and alone- so you will reach all the shops. by the way- there is a small market on the beach right after san marco

    Reims, Champagne-Ardenne, France
The main attraction in Reims is the beautiful flamboyant Gothic cathedral, where numerous French kings were crowned. The cathedral also features stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. But it's also a wonderful little town for wandering in, and the extra bonus is that you are in Champagne. You can get a taste of the very finest Champagnes, either in a glass, or worked into all manner of dishes, like a Champagne-vinaigrette-dressed salad, or chicken braised in Champagne.

    Pisa, Tuscany Region, Italy
Be sure to stop by Cinque Terre on the way to Pisa because you can just fly by and not notice these really cool little towns on the way. Great beaches and really picturesque places to walk/ take pictures or whatever.
