    Nandi, Western Fiji, Fiji
For me, nadi was more a place where you can travel through very fast - for example to get to the western Fiji Islands (wich are very nice, especially Beachcomber and Turtle). There is not really much to see in Nadi except the Market where you can get nice local fruits, food or Kava and the hindu temple which is very nice and colorful (wear cloth that cover most of your body (schoulders and knees)) Because Nadi has Fiji's international airport you will probably see the city - but don't plan there to stay longer than one or two days before visiting the rest of the islands! (btw. most people living there are not native fijians, they are indians - so if you like to bargain, do it! The indians do it but the fijians don't like to). If you don't want to rent a car, Nadi is a good place to get arround by bus! Most hotels have maps of the different bus lines - so just ask for it!
    Good tip?

Contact your hotel/resort in advance. Many will come and pick you up or organise your transfer for you. It's certainly better than getting a taxi from the airport!
