    Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Take a train to Versailles, pack a picnic lunch. Don't go into the Palace, instead rent bicycles and go all around the grounds. Maybe you'll get caught in a very french rain shower!

when people arrive at Paris CDG airport they instantaneously feel the need to run to a cab for transportation like a total love affair with the cab, but be aware it is not your friend~ DONT DO IT! PLEASE DO NOT DO IT! there is little to no reason to take a cab in Paris! the best alternative I have found is the Rossy bus! the RER works well too however the bus I have found to be the easiest and quickest! It makes fewer stops! It is also less crowed I have found than the Metro! Most people feel like they have to have a tkt before they can get on the bus this is a myth you can buy it from the driver so no worries !
Now the reason I hate cabs in Paris is this! They will charge you your life saving to drive you into town! it will be at least 75 dollars US when you could have only spent 12 US dollars on the bus or the Metro!
I think that a lot of people when they travel are often afraid of public transportation and in some places it is to be feared but in Paris the public transpiration is your friend ! Use it! you will find that the closer you stay to the ground the better time you will have ! I always get up set at my fellow americans when i see them in paris spending OODLES of cash on things/dumb desions like taking a cab and then I go back to the USA and overhear these same kinds of people saying how they didnt like it becasue it was soo expensive When in reality it would not have been soo expensive if they had just made some better desions like taking the METRO and not saying in the 5 star hotel when there are plenty of equally amazing hotels that are far more affordable and I find more enjoy able!
