visit the chateaux de bretagne. its picturesque and romantic. buy a croissant or pain au chocolat at a nearby patisserie and plop down on a bench or the grass. catch up on some good reads or browse through a french paper.

An idyllic quiet little village less than an hour from Nantes - take a walk along the river Erdre to savour the peace, go to the local pizzeria that churns out the most marvellous pizzas, and simply relax amidst some wonderful people - of course, I go there for personal interests very often... it is not on the tourist trail by any chance...

Nantes is a lovely city with a pleasant feel to it and lots to eat and see, and has a good transport system to help you do it... don't miss the city's association with Jules Verne and do eat at the historically famous restaurant La Cigale if you get the chance ... apart from great food, especially seafood, its sculpted interiors are a marvel to watch...

You should visit and eat à la Cigale, it's a great place !
