The Bayeux Tapestry is worth a visit if you're in the area. The tapestry portrays the invasion of England by the Normans in 1066.

The coastline of Longues-sur-Mer is dotted with the remains of a coastal battery, dating back to WW2. The battery formed part of the Atlantikwall, designed to keep the allies from invading the European mainland.
The battery site is easily accessible to visitors; for history/film buffs, it is worth noting that scenes from "The Longest Day" can be spotted here.
