Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Wurttemberg Region, Germany
A beautiful city in the Black Forest which lives for its students. There are biergartens galore and more than enough pubs to drink at. The cathedral is also great and the inner city streets a joy to walk through. Freiburg is renown for being one of the warmest places in Germany and there is a special building act which states that no building may be above a certain height as this blocks off the airflow coming from a certain direction.

Freiburg is a really cute city, its not a touristy place which means its a nice way to get into a very normal german atmosphere. It reminds me alot of some uk cities like Peterborough. Its very clean and has a really random river running through the town which you have to hop over to get into some shops and bars. There is an amazing club I cant remember the name of where you have to take an elevator upto it, something like 25 floors making it the highest point in the city and the club is all windowed so you have an amazing view while you dance the night away! Very close and easy to go across to Strasbourg on the train!

    The Muensterplace:
The Muenster of our love woman is the heart of the city. One began with the building around the year 1200. Differently than e.g. in Cologne or Ulm where the buildings of churches only in 19. Century were terminated, was already around 1330 finished the 116 meters high tower. With the new building of the choir until 1513 the Muenster was completed in its current form. Since then there were only smaller changes like the cultivation Renaissance-before-resounds at the south side 1620. The style of the Muenster is lateRoman in the oldest parts. Shortly after commencement of construction however the Gothic style came from France over the Rhine and the structural drawings was revised. The new style made it possible more highly to build more broadly and light. Church ship, tower and also the new choir are Gothic later. Thus the Muenster arouses at first sight the impression of a purely Gothic building. The two cock towers and details on the inside show the Roman beginnings however also today still.
