Dresden is a town with a historic past. Completely distroyed during WWII it has been rebuilt. The "Zwinger" and the "Semper" opera are musts to see. A very efficient public transport system with modern trams. And old steamboats on the Elbe River. Eat the Dresdner Stollen, mainly at Christmas and buy some of the famous Meissner porcelaine.

The NH is OKAY - I like the Holiday Inn but it is small.  If you have the means there is a nice "Marriot?" by the river.  Still looking for the best night places to hang though.

Stay at Dresden : Hofgarten 1824 its clean and new. Good stay.
