You can't miss the "Kunsthof"

Dresden is a town with a historic past. Completely distroyed during WWII it has been rebuilt. The "Zwinger" and the "Semper" opera are musts to see. A very efficient public transport system with modern trams. And old steamboats on the Elbe River. Eat the Dresdner Stollen, mainly at Christmas and buy some of the famous Meissner porcelaine.

Now I cant say that I enjoyed Dresden. Although its interesting for historical reasons. Their are a few old buildings to look at, but most of the city was destroyed during the war.
As a matter of fact, the city is quite depressing, due to all the communist past only 18 years ago. And if you are looking for nightlife or anything fun to do, you are in the wrong place.  I still do recommend to visit the city though, but make sure you only plan a day trip to the city. You will be glad to leave in the evening.

It's great to just walk around trough Dresden, marvalous city!

Semperoper, die muss man mal gesehen haben... auch wenns nur von aussen ist. :)

Zwinger, genau neben der Semperoper. Ein wunderschöner (kleiner) Garten in dem man die Hofdamen und Edelherren fast noch sehen kann.

Frauenkirche, das Bauwerk welches für so viel Gesprächsstoff gesorgt hat. Wunderschön, majestätisch und so geschichtsträchtig, als wäre sie nie weg gewesen.

Fantastic city and one of the most beautiful in Germany (I'm sorry, I have to be a bit passionate) with lots to do, e.g. Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady), Semperoper (Opera house) and Zwinger (museum park). Great restaurants, bars and night life, especially in the New Town. In the surroundings are Moritzburg (nice palace), Meissen (where porcelain was invented), Radebeul (wine) and Saxon Switzerland (great for walking, cycling tours and climbing).

When you visit don't remember to stop by the church. The Frauenkirche Church ("Church of our Lady") has a great history.  The church's view is absolutely amazing.
