Make sure that you have a money belt on you under you clothes as in some areas there are a lot of pickpockets. Also don't be afraid to barter with people if you want to buy things as some prices are for tourists, this is the best way to get a good deal.

When flying from outside of India going through Delhi, know that their airport is very strange. The international arrivals and domestic departures are a few miles a part. There is a bus that runs every hour but if you aren't in the "lounge" as one of the first, you may have to wait a few hours to catch a bus. Pay the $200 rupees ($5) and get a cab. I was able to get a cab with two other strangers (everyone was very friendly) and split the fee. Worth it!

Loads of places to visit. One of them would be the Red Fort and the food streets opposite to the Red Fort. They are cheap, fresh and tastes great.

Delhi is the old capital of the Mughal empire in India. Now it's part of New Delhi, the current capital. It has the Red fort, the greatest markets and wonderfull areas making the India experience awesome!

Se volete dormire a Delhi, e non avete abbastanza dindini per stare in un super hotel, consiglio il quartiere Paharganj, un pò incasinato, ma folcloristico! Se dovete prendere un treno a Delhi, prevedete 3 giorni per trovare un biglietto, o prenotatelo in anticipo... così come un pò in tutte le città indiane!

Use the metro. Whenever possible. It's cheap, clean, air-conditioned, comfortable and fast. You can travel with it all around New Delhi, which is quite big, and in a few tears time it will be possible to reach places as far from the city center as Gurgaon.

If you go to India probably you ll go to India almost for sure. In my opinion, stay there just the enought time.Also, be always alert since there are many people who try to rob the tourist. Do not trust anyone. Much better if you go to other little places where people is different and much nicer. On the other hand, is an interesting city to visit, although you will see a lot of poverty and people there drives absolutly crazy!!!

Get a prepaid taxi from the airport - and hold on to the ticket you get untill you are at you destination
