Very crowded. Be aware of pick pockets. They are every where. Try to avoid beggars. Sometimes, they are very annoying.

Are you fed up covering yourself constantly? Do you miss swimming? Here`s my tip: Go to a deluxe hotel and use their pool, some hotels (expensive as hell) allow non-guests in for a fee. The most affordable one is the Cetaur Hotel, NAtional Highway 8.

please find a tourist info centre n get all the info bout the places u wanna visit .... n how much its gonna cost u .... coz if u dont find this .... u will be ripped of money very fast .... n yeah dont rely on the tour operators .... probably they will take u to all the good places but the real charm is in the small places .... u will get to see the real delhi culture .... i would say u go to old delhi, chandni chowk, lal kila.
yeah another thing to remember is that the locals will try to rip u of money .... i would say if u look like a bit dark or wheatish in complexion ... try n wear the indian clothes n ppl will know that u know this place ... but if u are a fair skinned person its gonna be real tough, especially in old delhi
another thing is fix the fare if ur takin the auto rickshaw to some place n then go where ever u wanna go .... never take a metered auto-rickshaw in delhi .... its not the same as mumbai .... fix the fare beforehand .... please
try n book a decent hotel .... i am not sayin like a hotel worth Rs. 10000 per day .... please thats a waste of money .... coz ur gonna be wanderin around delhi so much that u wouldnt be stayin in the hotel for so long .... so i would say go for a price limit of 2000 to 4000 per day fare .... in this money u can get a decent hotel at a nice location
try n interact wid the locals as in what u wanna do n where u wanna go .... but never give your stay details or phone no. if u dont know the person
if possible u can use the public transport .... but get the info from ur hotel before enterin ne public transport ....
if u keep these things in mind i suppose ur trip in delhi will be a nice one

Here are actually a handful of tips from my trip to Delhi (just came back yesterday):

1. Ladies, dress local if you want to avoid a lot of harassment. Salwar suits are comfy and pretty, and it avoids the "halfway dressed" look of long pants and a spaghetti-strap top, or a 3/4 length shirt and miniskirt. Don't mix-n-match, it only makes you look like an easy mark and gets you harassed and leered at. A good suit will set you back maybe Rs600 for material (and that's on the upper end) and Rs150-300 for the tailor to make it (higher end is with a rush charge). You can get them sleeveless, shortsleeved, or longsleeved. Even a kurta top jeans/khakis makes you less a target.
2. Paharganj has a lot of nice shopping, but prepare to be hassled: they've got some fixed price shops cropping up, but still a lot of touts and hawkers. Shoes for Rs575 on Janpath start here at Rs300, and can be bargained down.
3. USE THE METRO. Unless you _want_ the sights and sounds of taking a rickshaw... the metro is cheap, clean, and there are even women's only cars which have guards to enforce that status!
4. A "price check" for 23-27 March 2011: autorickshaw from Paharganj - INA Market ran around Rs100 one way; Paharganj - Vasant Vihar ran around Rs120 one way.
