Escape the madness of Kuta and head off to the Gili islands, off Lombok. Easy to book with one of the local agents on Poppies Lane, you can either book the fast boat for a speedy getaway or take the slow ferry to Mataram then bus from there. I would definately go with the ferry, whats the rush? Its a beautiful journey, very relaxing and great to travel with the locals.

Bogor is a nice place to have a rest in the weekend. Located 65 km outside jakarta in the mountenous area is a perfect place for people who want to enjoy nature and walking in the green beautiful park. Downtown city, there is a national park, named Kebun Raya Bogor, a must see place in Bogor. With entrance is about 1 USD, the park offers a unique tropical rainforest with varies species of plant....good to travel to that place...

If you're looking for a great driver to take you anywhere on Bali, contact Putu Eddy Sukratha (home phone: (0362) 27804 mobile: 081805456266). He was really friendly and shared lots of information about the sites as well as cultural and personal experiences. When we were moving on to Lombok, he tried to help us buy Ferry tickets the day before. When he learned they would be closed, he drew us a map and went through instructions to make sure we could get there on our own. I'd highly recommend him!

if you want to go to Bogor like Puncak or another city

you must be careful because the road is slick when it's rain

and you must bring a jacket for a cold air....

don't go to bogor or puncak in holiday because you're gonna find a traffic jam...

Better to hire a car with a driver for the whole time there , cost you around eur 20/dfay + gas , which is also very cheap. Local driver is very useful as a guide too ...

Don't book day tours before you go! At most hotels you can hire a private driver for the day for around 600000 rupiah about $60 AUD. Who will take you anywhere you want to go minus all the shopping stops!
