The cafe is in the area that is blocked off for pedestrians only. Its all cobblestone and arcaic. The food is amazing there...the service was great and I can't wait to go back some day! Good tip? (0) Gaillimh, County Galway, Ireland friendly arty easy lovely city Good tip? (0) Gaillimh, County Galway, Ireland bring warm clothes. make sure to travel south a bit and see the cliffs of moher Good tip? (0) Gaillimh, County Galway, Ireland Say 'hello' to the man I love at the Saucy Sultan in Abbeygate Street. If he's not there, go to Sally Long's Pub, at the next intersection, for a game of pool or some live music, and say 'hi' to him there instead. Go feed the widowed swans on the other side of the Corrib, and enjoy some Trad music at any pub you come across!! Good tip? (0) Gaillimh, County Galway, Ireland A very nice small town in west Ireland, you can just walk to get around the town. A decent map can be get from the train and bus station. The attraction of Galway are Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, the Burren and Arann Islands. So if you haven't done your homework before arrive here, there's pamphlets everywhere especially at the bus station or tourists centre. There's plenty tour buses to visit all those places, but of course you need some other form of transportation to go to Arann Islands! The nearest international airport is Shannon which situated near Limerick. Ryanair got a hub over there, so if you're coming from continental europe, Shannon should be quite accessible. For muslims, halal food are really scarce over here. You can find one or two Turkish restaurant, but i've heard that they also couldn't guarantee their food's status. There's no mosque currently in Galway, where local muslims have to rent a basketball court every week for mass Firday prayer. They've tried to raise money to buy a property and convert them into mosque, but so far it wasn't successful. Good tip? (0) |
