If you want to go for a city break, Dublin is fine, but 2 days are enough to visit almost everything! The city is not huge. I enjoyed going for a pint in Temple bar (Quays Bar), with Irish music almost everyday!

Get a bus schedule! Dublin is not the place for Americans to drive around...lol. I found that out the hard way. We got lost and turned around a lot. The good thing for you is that if you can get a bus schedule and city map you are good to go. Its cheap and runs all the time, even late into the night if you want to stay out drinking at the pub.

Walking is the best way to get through this city

You should never take the Dart (sort of metro) at rush hour, for you will be packed like sardines in there! The transit system in Dublin is actually backward! It is a very nice city though! Apart from the city centre, you should definitely take the Dart (not at rush hour) to Bray and walk up the hill to have an extremely beautiful view... Lots of nice places in the city centre too, but you will find them anyhow as you're walking the streets...

Public Transportation works very well in Dublin, try staying outside the city and taking the DART to see surburban-Dublin.

Remember to have your hitch hiking finger up cause that's how you get the city bus to stop at the bus stop for you. It's kinda crazy.

rent a car and pack it with some great mates, then drive over to the west coast and play some fungolf: it's big laughter.

its the place to be. dont go in winter cus all it does is rain so choose late spring early summer....summers tend to include rain too...jus not as much as winter!
