Go to the navigli around 6-7 pm and have an aperitiv (which atually means you pay the drink and then have a larege buffet to eat) at any of the bars

Love this city. Is glamourous fun. A little aloof!! The Duomo is brilliant (has a lift unlike the Duomo in Florence).

Milan is very nice to visit. The Dome and the Sforzesco Castel are two places not to miss, and between them there are a lot of fashion shops.

If you're a woman travelling on your own expect to be propositioned by Italian men everywhere you go...oh, and no matter how hard you try, you will look like a muppet from a far less sophisticated town...everyone here is GLAMOROUS!

a very clean city! you pretty much feel underdressed everywhere you go! people not so friendly though....

Best shopping...glamour and culture... you can not miss an Opera Show at the Scala...ciao amore!

Watch out for pick pockets while going to subway stations. Always make sure you have a bag /purse that can zip up. They can even get into your front pockets without you knowing so if they get too close move away from them.

As for lodging try to find a bed and breakfast to save money. They are much nicer than you expect.

Its a nice city if you like luxury and have a lot of money to spend, becuase its well overprised. The areas just outside milan are wonderfull and average priced. Good nightlife and reasonable amount of culture. Book your hotel or hostel well in advance otherwise you pay a lot of money!!!!

Best food to eat in Milan is the risotto.
