Pisa has lots of budget hotels and is crowded with tourist (I'm sure all the time, not just the summer).  As you know, this is where you can find the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Duomo is next to it.  Nothing special but those really.  There are lots of restaurants and the food was reasonable and you couldn't go wrong with pizza.  Just be aware of pick-pockets, like you would in Rome or Paris.  We found some good exchange rates there in a plaza next to the Leaning Tower and Museum.  P.S. The Museum did not house anything unique.

Pisa, is a great little city. There is not only the leaning tower. you can also find a good shopping center.

Since Pisa's only claim to fame is the imperfect Leaning Tower, the city does not have much else to offer, so you should plan to stay only a couple of hours at most. Of course, don't think about leaving before taking a picture of you "pushing up" the tower!

I came to Pisa to see the leaning tower, and to discover the birthplace of Galileo. I saw the tower, but learned nothing new about Galileo :( The Muzeo Nationale was closed... Piazza Dei Miracoli is where you need to be, that's where the leaning tower is, the cemetry (camposanto), and the Duomo. It'a a beautiful place to have a picnic, enjoy the sun (summer days), and watch thousands of people strike endless poses with the leaning tower, seriously, it doesn't get old!

Maybe Pisa is a bit too touristic, but nevertheless it is quite nice to visit. Don't miss the tower of Pisa! Although I must say that in Tuscany there are many other quite nice cities, such as Lucca and many more.

The old inner city is nice. Certainly don't forget to visit the place where Dante was held captive for many years. It's a great square, btw!

The many bridges are also worth to see... And the best is: Pisa Airport is really close to the center city...and there are plenty low budget airlines flying to it!

Llega temprano, es suficiente medio dia para disfrutar Pisa. Visita el Baptisterio y la Iglesia...son hermosas, vale la pena pagar por la entrada.
