Perugia, Umbria Region, Italy
Modest and overall calm student town in Italy's Umbria region. Has a renaissance town centre with nice fashion boutiques. A really nice alternative to Tuscane's big touristic cities, which tend to be overpopulated with tourists. Don't expect any major renaissance buildings though, but enjoy the calm.

Corciano, Umbria Region, Italy
Outside of Perugia, you'll find Corciano, a pleasant medieval hill town with cobbled roads, Gothic churches, and a castle. Here you'll see gorgeous vistas of the Umbrian countryside. Travel with your umbrella, even in the summertime-- there is often a short violent thunderstorm in the late afternoon, but it rarely lasts very long. If you're staying at the Perugino Hotel, you'll want to have a car; it's a very nice hotel on a main highway, but it can be difficult to get around on foot or by bus.

Perugia Farmhouse Backpacker Hostel is for sure the best hostel I have ever been in my life! Hospitality was so great that I'd love to go back as soon as possible - just to chill out with my new friends there! They cooked so nice pizza for me and today we are going to go for a great boat-trip in here! Awesome place, you should see this cute farmhouse and the animals in here! :)

Another central Italian gem ... and relatively free of the tourist hordes you would find, say, in Firenze or Pisa... come here to take in the natural surrounds, some charming city architecture and the lovely cuisine of the Umbria region ...

Visit the Jazz Festival in Perugia, it is just great. The medieval town is a great background for this big party! Camping Paradis d'Ete. Unfortunately not that easy to find. But also in summer nicely cool, as the whole camping is in a forest on top of a hill.
