This is a must see! Go to Dunne's River Falls and walk up and down a waterfall (in the water). It is so cool and nice on a hot day.

Definitely go up into the Blue Mountains and see Nine Mile, Bob Marley's childhood home. Also, only go in registered cabs (I think they have the red license plates).

If you arrive by cruise ship, prostitutes may be the first people you see when you come ashore, regardless of the time of day. Some guy tried to sell me heroin in the open-air marketplace they have for tourists. Everyone we met was hustling or working an angle in one way or another. We were threatened with violence on more than one occasion. I'd recommend giving it a miss, personally.

If your spending some time in Ocho Rios its well worth checking out Dunns river falls..

dunns river falls is great fun. you're in a huge human chain with everyone holding hands and helping eachother climb the falls. looks daunting but its great fun to do, people take photos and its a memorable experience!

Stay at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios. Great deal, all inclusive and you only need to leave for Dunn's River Falls. Avoid the market as they haggle and corner you. Food excellant, drinks very strong, entertainment and hot.
