Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan Great selection of western restaurants here...if you need a fix! :-) Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan Yokohama is well renowned for it's port. Very beautiful especially by night. Restaurants offer very good sea food. Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan Okay, Yokosuka, Yokohama, and Tokyo are all beautiful cities to visit. Tokyo has the most to offer with the night life and the food. I remember traveling on the trains. They were so clean and ran so smoothly. Being from New York that was a different type of experience for me. I also remember that they had machines on the streets that sold beer just like a soda machine and they had porno magazine machines too. I haven't been there in over 18 years, but that is what I remeber the most. The people were terrrific and very polite. I also remember that the streets and the cars seemed small compared to America. I was stationed there from 87-90 at the Naval Base and I can' wait to travel back and see how much it has changed. Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan Yokohama Sea Paradise is a Japan's Largest Collection of Aqua Museum.Theme park surrounded by nature. Visit of the park is not complete without seeing the aqua museum and dolphin show. Entrance around the park is free but if you wish to watch the dolphin show, ticket costs Y2400. Directions: by train, take Seaside Line from Shin-Sugita Station and go down at Hakkeijima Station. Alternatively, take Seaside Line from Kanazawa Hakkei Station and go down at Hakkejima Station. Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan A futuristic looking area of central Yokohama, located exactly a few walk around the Sakuragi-cho Stn. Minato Mirai or harbour of the future as what they usually call it , is one of the best place a tourist shouldn't miss, the area offers lovely sunset and alot of department stores(shops again, lol!), restaurants that varies in different kinds. The area was built during early 80's and finished in merely, 1993. MM21(Minato Mirai Niju-ichi) is part of large scale urban development project for 21st century. The Land Mark Tower (Japan's tallest buillding), Cosmo Clock (the World's third biggest Ferris wheel), Grand Inter Continental Hotel (half circular shaped) are the main features of the Minato Mirai 21 developmen and accentuates the beautiful Yokohama skyline. It is recommended that you go in the evening though you can enjoy this area in the day time! Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan You don't need to give tips to the waiter or waitresses when they have it in the bill for service charge. By the way, in Japan when buying, the tax is not yet included so don't be surprise if the tag price is different to the one you have paid. Please take note with this - in Japan, they consider it improper to eat or drink something while you are walking around the streets. Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan I had the best time going to the Ramen Museum in Yokohama. This is where the best ramen is made. It is a fun process to eat at this museum because you get to pre-select and pay for your meal outside the restaurant. Once you pay for your ramen at the vending machine placed right outside each restaurant you enter to be seated. The waitress will kindly take your ticket. Then your food is served within minutes. I was traveling with a big ramen fanatic...and since each restaurant featured a unique ramen flavor my friend couldn't resist limiting himself to only one bowl. We ended up going to almost all the restaurants. Good tip? (0) Yokohama, Kantō Region, Japan Allows take the train! It saves money, and most trains stations are mini-malls. Good tip? (0) |
